How to describe Wumbi
One line
Wumbi is a free budgeting app that logs an expense in about three seconds and keeps everything encrypted on your phone.
One paragraph
Wumbi is a budgeting app for iPhone and Android built around a single idea: that people abandon budgeting apps because logging is slow, not because the charts are bad. You type an amount, tap Income or Expense, and it is saved in about three seconds, with the screen already waiting for the next one. Instead of maintaining a category tree you type free-form tags as you go, and a tag map later shows which of them move money together. The free app needs no account and no bank connection, works with no internet, supports 64 currencies including crypto, and stores everything in an AES-256 encrypted database on the device itself.
Boilerplate
Wumbi is an independent app project. The operating entity is not published yet. Ask us at support@wumbi.app and we will tell you. It is not venture funded.
Story angles
The three-second claim is the whole product
Most budgeting apps fail on retention, not features. Wumbi is an argument that the fix is logging speed, not smarter automation. That is a testable claim and worth testing.
A finance app with no account, deliberately
No sign-up, no bank link, no server. Unusual enough in personal finance to be worth asking about, and it has real consequences: lose the phone on the free plan and the data is gone.
Tags instead of categories
Free-form tags typed inline, plus a force-directed map showing which tags move money together. A different mental model from the category tree every competitor uses.
64 currencies including crypto
Per-wallet currencies, a converted total, and every transaction storing the rate it was made with so history does not drift.
